Model Analyzer (Setup Grading)

Analyze performance by setup grade (default A+, A, B+, B, C)

The Model Analyzer on the Analytics page shows how your trades perform based on setup quality grades. This feature works in conjunction with the Setup Grading system, which assigns grades (default A+, A, B+, B, C -- custom grade names work too) to trades based on criteria you define. Trades without a setup grade are excluded from this analysis.

Grade Levels

  • A+ (Top Grade) -- The highest quality setups that meet all your criteria. These should be your best-performing trades.
  • A (High Quality) -- Strong setups that meet most criteria. Still high-confidence trades.
  • B+ / B (Acceptable) -- Decent setups that meet minimum criteria. May have some missing confluence factors.
  • C (Low Quality) -- Below-average setups taken despite not meeting most criteria.
  • Custom grades -- Any custom grade names defined in a strategy's grading rules (for example "Elite") appear as their own rows. Trades without a setup grade are excluded entirely.

Metrics Per Grade

For each grade level, the Model Analyzer displays:

  • Number of trades with that grade
  • Win rate (with the win/loss split)
  • Average PnL
  • Total PnL

What to Look For

The ideal pattern is: A+ and A grades should have the highest win rate and average PnL, while B and C grades should progressively underperform. If your C-grade trades outperform A+ trades, your decision tree criteria may need refinement.

The Model Analyzer is only useful if you consistently grade your setups. Make it a habit to assign a strategy (with setup grading rules) to every trade so this analysis has enough data to generate meaningful insights.
You need at least 20-30 trades per grade level to draw statistically meaningful conclusions. Small sample sizes can produce misleading results.
