Column Filters and Visibility
How to toggle column visibility and apply filters to find specific trades
The journal table supports extensive customization through column visibility toggles and multi-criteria filters. These tools help you focus on the data that matters most and quickly find specific trades.
Column Visibility Toggle
Not every column needs to be visible all the time. Use the column visibility toggle to hide or show specific columns:
- 1Click the "Columns" button in the journal header bar.
- 2A dropdown appears listing all available columns.
- 3Toggle each column on or off by clicking its name.
- 4Your column preferences are saved and persist between sessions.
Applying a Filter
To filter the table, click a column's header label (for example, Symbol or Result). A small dropdown opens for that column where you choose what to show. The header label turns blue while a filter is active on it, and you clear the filter from inside the same dropdown. You can apply several column filters at once to narrow the list:
- Date Range -- Filter trades by entry date range (from/to).
- Symbol -- Show only trades for a specific instrument.
- Direction -- Filter by Long or Short trades.
- Result -- Show only Wins, Losses, or Break Even trades.
- Strategy -- Filter by a specific trading strategy.
- Session -- Filter by trading session (e.g., Tokyo, London, New York, Outside).
- Status -- Filter by trade status (Closed, Running, Pending).
- Tags -- Filter by specific auto-tags or custom tags.
Combining Filters
Filters stack together using AND logic. For example, selecting "Symbol = ES" and "Result = Win" will show only winning ES trades. Active filters are shown as pills above the table and can be individually removed by clicking the X on each pill.
