Column Filters and Visibility
How to toggle column visibility and apply filters to find specific trades
The journal table supports extensive customization through column visibility toggles and multi-criteria filters. These tools help you focus on the data that matters most and quickly find specific trades.
Column Visibility Toggle
Not every column needs to be visible all the time. Use the column visibility toggle to hide or show specific columns:
- 1Click the "Columns" button in the journal header bar.
- 2A dropdown appears listing all available columns.
- 3Toggle each column on or off by clicking its name.
- 4Your column preferences are saved and persist between sessions.
Applying a Filter
To filter the table, click a column's header label (for example, Symbol or Result). A small dropdown opens for that column where you choose what to show. You clear the filter from inside the same dropdown. You can apply several column filters at once to narrow the list:
- Date Range -- Filter trades by entry date range (from/to).
- Symbol -- Show only trades for a specific instrument.
- Direction -- Filter by Long or Short trades.
- Result -- Show only Wins, Losses, Breakeven, Canceled, or Unfilled trades.
- Strategy -- Filter by a specific trading strategy.
- Session -- Filter by trading session (e.g., Tokyo, London, New York, Outside).
- Status -- Filter by trade status: Closed, Running, Pending, Canceled, or Unfilled.
- Tags -- Filter by specific auto-tags or custom tags. This one is a button in the header bar above the table, not a column-header dropdown.
- Account -- Show only trades on one trading account.
- Timeframe -- Filter by the chart timeframe the trade was taken on. The dropdown lists only the timeframes your own trades actually use, anywhere from 15s to 6M.
- Risk -- Show only closed trades that stayed within your planned risk, or only those that went past it. Running, pending and draft rows sit outside this filter, so the two options are not opposites of each other.
- Trade Style -- Filter by Scalp, Intraday, Swing, or Position.
- Grade -- Filter by setup grade, A+ down to C.
- Setup Mode -- Narrows to trades taken with a decision tree. This one is not a column dropdown: Analytics sets it for you when you drill into a setup variant, and you clear it from its pill.
- Variant -- One exact decision-tree path. Set the same way as Setup Mode, from Analytics, and cleared the same way.
Combining Filters
Filters stack together using AND logic. For example, selecting "Symbol = ES" and "Result = Win" will show only winning ES trades. Active filters are shown as pills inside the Mini Dashboard's "Filtered Results" header, and each can be removed by clicking the X on it. That header appears only at the Full and Stats densities, and it is desktop-only -- below 768px the pills do not render at all.
