Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Protect your TradeLog account with an authenticator app and backup codes
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second lock to your account: after entering your password, you also enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. Even if someone learns your password, they cannot get in without your device.
Enabling 2FA
- 1Open Settings from the sidebar and go to the Security section.
- 2In the Two-Factor Authentication card, click Enable.
- 3Scan the QR code with any authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, 1Password...). Can't scan? Copy the setup key shown under the QR code and add it in the app manually.
- 4Enter the 6-digit code your app shows and click Verify.
- 5Save your backup codes — copy them or download the file, then store them somewhere safe.
Backup Codes
Right after enabling 2FA, TradeLog shows you 10 one-time backup codes — this is the only time they are displayed in full. Each code can be used once in place of an authenticator code. The Security section shows how many you have left, and you can generate a fresh set at any time (the new set replaces the old one).
Logging In With 2FA
From now on, logging in has two steps: your email and password first, then the 6-digit code from your app. Lost access to the authenticator? Use the recovery option on the login screen and enter one of your backup codes — this removes the lost authenticator from your account, lets you back in with just your password, and you can then set 2FA up fresh from Settings.
Disabling 2FA
- 1Open Settings and go to the Security section.
- 2In the Two-Factor Authentication card, click Disable.
- 3Confirm — from then on your password alone signs you in.
