Create Your First Trading Account
Learn how to set up your first trading account in TradeLog
Before you can log any trades, you need to create at least one trading account. An account in TradeLog represents a real or simulated trading account you hold with a broker, prop firm, or crypto exchange. This guide walks you through the process step by step.
Navigate to the Accounts Page
Click "Accounts" in the left sidebar. This is the central hub for managing all your trading accounts. You can switch between a grid view and a list view using the toggle buttons in the top-right corner.
Add a New Account
- 1Click the green "Add Account" button in the top-right corner of the Accounts page.
- 2Enter a name for your account (e.g., "FTMO 100K" or "Binance Spot").
- 3Select your broker or exchange from the dropdown, or type a custom name.
- 4Choose the account type (Futures, Forex, Stocks, Crypto, or Other).
- 5Set your account currency (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.) and starting balance.
- 6Select the account status that matches your situation (see below).
- 7Click "Create Account" to save.
Account Status Types
Every account has a status that determines how TradeLog tracks and displays it. Choose the status that best matches your trading situation:
- DEMO -- Practice accounts with simulated money. Demo accounts count toward your plan's account limit like any active account.
- EVALUATION -- Prop firm challenges and evaluations. Links to prop firm rule tracking when a firm profile is attached.
- FUNDED -- Accounts that have passed evaluation and are now funded by a prop firm. Enables payout tracking and profit split calculations.
- LIVE -- Personal live trading accounts funded with your own capital.
- CRYPTO -- Cryptocurrency exchange accounts (Binance, Bybit, OKX). Enables API sync and multi-asset balance tracking.
Account Views
Accounts are automatically grouped by status (Demo, Evaluation, Funded, Live, Crypto) with color-coded headers. You can hide or show each category using the visibility toggles at the top. There is also a "Blown" section for accounts that have been deactivated due to rule violations or significant losses.
