Payouts and Profit Splits

Track payout eligibility, record payouts, and understand profit split calculations

For funded prop firm accounts, TradeLog tracks your payout eligibility, calculates profit splits, and maintains a complete history of all payouts received. The Payout Calculator tab on the Prop Firms page is your go-to resource for managing prop firm income.

Payout Eligibility Checker

The payout eligibility checker runs continuously and shows whether you qualify for a payout based on the firm's rules:

  • Minimum payout amount met -- Your withdrawable profit exceeds the firm's minimum payout threshold.
  • Safety net reached -- Your balance is above the safety-net threshold, leaving withdrawable profit above it.
  • Trading days and profitable days requirements met -- You have completed the minimum number of trading days and profitable days for the payout period.
  • Consistency rule passed and no daily-loss breach.
  • No active violations -- Your account has no unresolved rule violations.

Profit Split Calculations

Prop firms share a percentage of profits with you (typically 70-90%). TradeLog calculates:

  • Gross profit -- Total profit since your last payout (or since funding).
  • Firm's share -- The percentage kept by the prop firm.
  • Your share -- The amount you receive, based on the profit split ratio.
  • Cumulative payouts -- Total amount paid out across all payout periods.

Recording a Payout

  1. 1When you are eligible, the primary flow is one click: press "Record Payout" on the Payout Calculator tab. TradeLog validates every rule, computes the profit split, records the payout transaction, and updates your payout count automatically.
  2. 2Alternatively, record it manually: go to the Transactions page, click "Add Transaction", and select "Payout" as the type.
  3. 3Select the funded account and the prop firm profile (required for payouts), then enter the payout amount.
  4. 4Add the date the payout was received.
  5. 5Save the transaction. The payout appears on the Payout Calculator tab and as a blue P badge on the Calendar.
Always record payouts as Payout-type transactions rather than regular withdrawals. This ensures they are correctly categorized in the calendar badges (P vs W) and properly accounted for in profit split calculations.
Payout calculations use the profit split percentage configured in your prop firm profile. If the firm changes your profit split (e.g., from 80/20 to 90/10 after reaching a tier), update the profile to keep calculations accurate.
