Manage Trading Strategies
Create, edit, organize, and analyze your trading strategies
The Strategies page is where you define and manage your trading strategies. A strategy in TradeLog is more than just a name -- it can include descriptions, rules, checklists, images, setup-grading rules, and a decision tree that guides your analysis. Every trade can be linked to a strategy for strategy-level analytics.
Creating a Strategy
- 1Click "Strategies" in the left sidebar.
- 2Click the "New Strategy" button.
- 3Enter a name for your strategy (e.g., "ICT Silver Bullet" or "Supply and Demand Pullback").
- 4Add a description explaining the strategy rules and market conditions.
- 5Optionally upload images showing example setups.
- 6Click "Create Strategy."
Strategy Features
- Name and description for each strategy.
- Images of example chart setups (up to 5 on Basic, 15 on Premium).
- Pre-trade checklist with customizable checklist items.
- Setup Grading rule sets for automatic grades (default A+, A, B+, B, C -- fully customizable).
- Decision Tree that guides your analysis with IF/THEN branching questions.
- The Tags tab on the same page manages your trade tags used in the journal (strategies themselves have no tags field).
Strategy Analytics
Once trades are linked to strategies, you can see per-strategy performance metrics:
- Win rate per strategy
- Average PnL per strategy
- Total PnL per strategy
- Number of trades per strategy
- Best and worst performing strategies ranked
Keep your strategy list focused and meaningful. Having 2-3 well-defined strategies is more useful for analytics than 20 vague ones. Each strategy should represent a distinct market approach with different entry criteria.
The Manual, Manual+, and Basic plans support up to 5 strategies; Premium supports unlimited strategies. ALL strategies count toward the limit -- deactivating a strategy does not free a plan slot; delete a strategy to free one.
