Trading Sessions
Configure your trading session windows (defaults: Sydney, Tokyo, London, New York) for session-based analytics
Trading sessions represent the major market hours during which you trade. TradeLog ships with built-in defaults that depend on the account type, and you can customize the windows or define your own sessions. Session data powers session-based analytics, helping you discover which times of day produce your best results.
The Built-In Sessions
- Forex and futures accounts -- four overlapping sessions: Sydney (emerald), Tokyo (blue), London (yellow), and New York (red). Overlaps show combined, for example "London + New York".
- Stocks accounts -- Pre-Market, Regular Hours, and After-Hours.
- Crypto accounts -- no default sessions (crypto trades around the clock); add your own if you want session analytics.
- Outside (gray by default) -- not a configurable session but the auto-assigned bucket for any trade that falls outside all your session windows. Its chip color is customizable.
Configuring Sessions
- 1Go to Settings in the sidebar.
- 2Find the Trading Sessions section.
- 3For each session, set the start time and end time in your own local timezone.
- 4Add or remove sessions to match your schedule (custom sessions cannot overlap).
- 5Save your settings.
Sessions in the Journal
The session is detected automatically from each trade's entry time -- there is no session picker when adding a trade, and the journal Session cell has no inline edit. To correct session assignments, adjust your session windows in Settings and click Re-detect, which re-tags all your trades. The session appears as a colored label in the journal table.
Session Analytics
The Analytics page breaks down your performance by session:
- Win rate per session
- Average PnL per session
- Total PnL per session
- Trade count per session
- Best performing session highlighted
- Session colors are customizable in Settings (including the Outside session color)
