Edit and Delete Trades
How to change trades with inline cell editing, and how to delete them
Every trade in TradeLog is edited inline. Click any cell in the journal table to change its value in a small popover -- there is no separate edit form or edit mode to switch into, and nothing to Save.
Edit a Trade Inline
To change anything about a trade, click the cell you want to edit. A popover opens where you set the new value, and the change is saved as soon as you confirm it. What is editable depends on the trade's lifecycle:
- While a trade is a draft -- everything: symbol, direction, entry price, quantity, dates, stop loss, and take profit.
- While it is running -- the exit price and exit date (closing it), plus stop loss and take profit.
- Once it is closed -- the exit is immutable and SL/TP become display-only; core entry fields are locked.
- At any time, on any status -- strategy, session, timeframe, setup grade, tags, images, notes, fees, and swap.
The Trade Detail Panel
Click anywhere on a trade row to open the Trade Detail Panel on the right. It gives you the full picture of the trade and is where you manage images, split a trade into partial closes, and (for manually entered and file-imported trades) revert a trade back to a draft -- live-synced trades, partial legs, and parents with legs cannot be reverted. The field values themselves are still edited in the table cells.
Deleting a Trade
Each row has a trash icon at the end. Click it to remove the trade. Real trades ask you to confirm before anything is deleted; an unfinished draft row shows a quick "Discard draft" confirmation. Individual legs of a grouped (partial or pyramided) trade can also be deleted from their own trash icon. On auto-synced accounts the delete button is disabled (with an explanatory tooltip) because trades are broker truth -- re-syncing corrects data instead of manual deletion.
