Recording a Prop Firm Payout
How to record profit share payouts from funded accounts
If you trade with a prop firm funded account, you can record payouts to track your profit share distributions. Payouts are a special transaction type that links to your prop firm profile and respects the firm's profit split rules.
Prerequisites
- A trading account with Funded status
- A prop firm profile linked to that account (set up in the Prop Firms page)
- Sufficient profit in the account to meet the minimum payout requirement
Recording a Payout
- 1Click Add Transaction on the Transactions page
- 2Select your funded account from the account dropdown
- 3Choose Payout as the transaction type
- 4Select the linked prop firm profile from the Prop Firm Profile dropdown that appears
- 5Enter the gross payout amount (before the firm's split)
- 6The system calculates and displays the profit split: your share and the firm's share
- 7Set the payout status -- Pending (submitted to the firm but not yet received) or Approved (confirmed and received)
- 8Add any relevant notes and click Save
Payout Split Calculation
When you enter a payout amount, the system uses the profit split percentage from your prop firm profile to calculate how much goes to you and how much goes to the firm. For example, with an 80/20 split and a $1,000 gross payout, you receive $800 and the firm keeps $200. Some firms (e.g., Apex) pay 100% of profits up to a threshold -- the calculator honors this automatically: while your cumulative withdrawals are below the threshold you receive 100% of that portion, and only the amount above it is split by the percentage.
Payout Eligibility
The system checks four things: your requested amount meets the firm's minimum payout, your balance is above the safety net (if not, a warning shows how much more you need), the amount does not exceed the maximum you can withdraw, and you have enough unique trading days.
