How It Works
Set up a Flex Query in your IBKR portal and connect it to TradeLog. Trades sync automatically with full execution data including P&L, commissions, order types, and multi-asset support.
Create a Flex Query
Log in to your IBKR Client Portal. Go to Performance & Reports > Flex Queries. Create an Activity Flex Query with Trade Confirmations.
Generate a Flex Token
In IBKR Client Portal, generate a Flex Web Service Token. Choose a validity period (up to 1 year). Copy the token.
Connect & Sync
Go to Connections > IBKR. Paste your Flex Token and Query ID. Click Save Connection. Your trades will sync automatically.

How does the Flex Query sync work?
You create a Flex Query template and generate a token in your IBKR Client Portal. TradeLog uses these to request your trade data via IBKR's Flex Web Service API. This is the standard integration method used by all major trading journals.
What data is imported?
All trade execution data: symbol, date/time, buy/sell, quantity, price, commission, realized P&L, order type, and asset class. Options include strike, expiry, and put/call. Futures include contract details.
How long is the Flex Token valid?
You choose the validity period when generating the token — from 6 hours up to 1 year. For regular syncing, we recommend setting it to 1 year. You can revoke it at any time from your IBKR portal.
Is my IBKR account secure?
Yes. Flex Tokens are read-only — they can only retrieve trade data and cannot place orders or access funds. Your token is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage. You can revoke the token from IBKR at any time.
