Manual Entry on Synced Accounts

Why '+ Add Trade' is hidden on auto-synced accounts, and how to bring it back

Connected an auto-synced account and can't find the '+ Add Trade' button? That is intentional: on accounts fed by an automatic sync, every fill arrives on its own — manual rows would mostly risk duplicating what the sync already imports. So TradeLog hides manual entry (the '+ Add Trade' buttons and inline add rows) on synced accounts by default.

The Exceptions

Tradovate and NinjaTrader accounts keep manual entry visible even though they are synced. Their APIs cannot recover a trade after the trading day ends — so if a sync ever misses one, typing it in yourself is the only way to add it. On those platforms manual entry stays available as a safety valve.

Turning It On or Off Per Account

  1. 1Open Accounts from the sidebar.
  2. 2Open the synced account's settings (edit the account).
  3. 3Toggle 'Allow manual entry' on or off, and save.

Why hidden is the safe default: platforms like MT4/MT5 re-send the full account history whenever the robot re-attaches, so a missed trade heals itself on the next sync. If you had also added it manually, you would end up with the same trade twice.
If you enable manual entry to log a missed trade, use it for genuinely missing trades only — anything the sync can still deliver will arrive on its own.
