Import History From a Date

Choose whether your robot imports all available history or only trades after a date you pick

Accounts synced by a TradeLog robot (MT4, MT5, cTrader, NinjaTrader) can limit how far back trade history is imported. By default the robot imports everything it can read; if you would rather start your journal from a specific point — say, the current funding cycle — set an import date instead.

Where to Find It

  1. 1Open Accounts from the sidebar.
  2. 2Open the synced account's settings (edit the account).
  3. 3Find 'Import History From' and switch from 'All Available History' to 'From a Date'.
  4. 4Pick the calendar date and save.

How the Date Works

  • Only closed trades are filtered: a trade closed before your chosen date is skipped during import; a trade closed on or after it is imported.
  • Open positions are never filtered — they are current state, not history.
  • The setting affects future syncs only. Trades already in your journal are not removed; delete them manually if you don't want them.
  • The date is a calendar day — there is no time-of-day component.

Not the Same as Fresh Start

Fresh Start (in the same account settings) only hides older trades from your views — it is reversible at any time. 'Import History From' controls what is imported at all. Your robot can only read the history currently loaded in your terminal, so trades that were never imported may not be recoverable later — set an import date only when you're sure.
NinjaTrader is the exception. The TradeLog Strategy captures executions only from the moment it starts running — a NinjaScript strategy cannot read the executions that happened before it, so it never backfills. An import date cannot recover history the Strategy was not there to see. For older NinjaTrader trades, export the Executions grid and import that file instead.

Crypto exchanges and Tradovate work differently — they are pull connections, and their sync window is chosen on the connection itself when you connect, not per account.
